NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal continued his 40th birthday celebration in Las Vegas at Lavo in the Palazzo on Saturday night. The four-time NBA champion and 12-time all-star arrived on the red carpet to fans before heading in to dine and party with friends. After feasting on Kobe meatballs, penne alla vodka, strip steaks and more, Shaq made his way upstairs to the boutique nightclub, where he got the party started and jumped into the booth with DJ Obi One. When he got on the mic, the crowd cheered and pulled out cell phones to capture the excitement. Obi One treated clubgoers to a medley of songs with Shaq giving shout-outs on the mic. Shaq thanked the crowd for turning out to celebrate his birthday and was presented by a basketball-themed birthday cake from Gimme Some Sugar. Shaq also offered tastes to the crowd. MIIKE SNOW AT TAO Next door at Tao in the Venetian, Swedish indie pop band Miike Snow made their Las Vegas debut. They dined at Tao, enjoying wasabi filet, Buddha chicken and sushi and upstairs in the nightclub took over a VIP skybox in the moat section before heading to the DJ booth, where they entertained clubgoers with a set of songs. KASKADE AT MARQUEE Over at sister club Marquee in the Cosmopolitan, America’s Best DJ Kaskade returned to a packed house. The crowd included New York Rangers star Sean Avery, who just announced that he will retire at the end of the season, and Stephanie Fantauzzi from Showtime’s “Shameless." Robin Leach has been a journalist for more than 50 years and has spent the past decade giving readers the inside scoop on Las Vegas, the world’s premier platinum playground.
