H87M - Haswell Video Drivers for WinXP (4400 Series) Hello,
As the title basically says, I'm trying to obtain an XP driver for the Intel HD 4400 integrated graphics/audio. And yes, I surely know that I shouldn't even consider having XP on the target PC with all this new hardware. I've explained this to the party involved multiple times. However, this is a work server application and this particular system must have XP installed. I've been scouring the net trying to look up drivers for the hardware IDs listed. I believe there are 2, the HD video driver and the HDMI audio driver. IDs listed below:
"Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus" - HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8086&DEV_2807&SUBSYS_80860101& REV_1000
"Video Controller (VGA Compatible)" - PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_041E&SUBSYS_041E1849&REV_06
Most of the utilities I've tried and claim they are "XP compatible", display an error indicating "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software." Which obviously means those are designed for Vista/Win7/Win8.
UPDATE: I'm getting closer. I found a possible driver here. I downloaded the 32-bit version and forced the driver install using "have disk" (reference). Only there are numerous Intel HD Graphics drivers to choose from. I've tried a few of them now but all have come back with a "device cannot start (code 10)" error. Will keep trying, but any suggestions would be welcomed and IMMENSELY appreciated. Thank you. -
Re: H87M - Haswell Video Drivers for WinXP (4400 Series) As you probably know, the earliest OS that Intel HD 4400 graphics drivers support is Windows 7. That is fairly far removed from XP...
You may be long past this, but are you familiar with the Intel Download Center? https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Default.aspx?lang=eng
In the 1. Select a product family, choose Graphics
In the 2. Select a product line, choose Desktop graphics drivers
In the 3.Select a product name, is where you might get lucky. If you choose the "4th Generation... '4400" entry, you'll only get Windows 7 and 8 drivers. If you choose the "3rd Generation... 4000" entry, you'll find some XP drivers.
Will those work for you? They are as close as I can find, but are obviously the wrong CPU generation. Poke around a bit and see if something works. -

Either way, I tried the Intel Driver Update Utility which would detect that the graphics adapter as unidentified. As for the download center, good suggestion on the 3rd Gen. 4000 series. I hadn't really considered that seeing as how it was 3rd vs. 4th. The result however, was the same as I've been getting for all the others I've tried. The EXE won't run and displays the error, "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software." from before. So I tried manually loading it with "Have Disk". I tried all that were present under that driver. Intel HD, 3000, 4000, P3000, and P4000. All would load, but would flash the "device cannot start (code 10)" error. However, one good thing to come from this is that the HDMI audio driver worked from the 3rd gen. package, so kudos to that, thanks! So close to getting the video. It's now the sole driver that has an error. :hmph: -
Re: H87M - Haswell Video Drivers for WinXP (4400 Series) Hi,
I have the same problem.
I solve the "Video Controller (VGA Compatible)" - PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_041E&SUBSYS_041E1849&REV_06 problem, with this driver: Intel_HD_Graphics_6.14.10.5441_xp32.zip. unfortunately I do not know where I found it...
The "Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus" - HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8086&DEV_2807&SUBSYS_80860101& REV_1000 problem, I still can not solve it but I think it is sound.
i will try all the drivers you install knight1fox3 -

i will try all the drivers you install knight1fox3 Thanks for the reply! I will try to search for that driver but how did you install it? Did you use "have disk" or did you run the EXE setup file?
As for your audio driver, yes that is the HDMI sound. Go to this link and download the XP 32-bit driver ZIP file. Go to your audio driver and "change driver". Follow the steps to manually load the driver. Choose "sound & audio" then select "have disk". Now there should be a folder called "display audio". Select that and it should load the driver without any problems. At least it did for me. Hope that helps.
EDIT: I think I found what the driver you referenced here: http://www./drivers.a...brNum=3&show=0 -

My machine:
Asus H87M-E with Core i5 4440 in Windows XP Pro 32bits I have the i3-4130. And I'm confused now. I thought you said you got your video to work? I loaded the GT2 driver but there is an error (yellow exclamation point) that says "device cannot start (code 10)". And the HD 4000 also did not work for me. All the Haswell drivers I've tried all come up with error code 10.
Did you get the audio to work yet? That I know works for sure if you follow my steps above. -

Here's what I did.
I uninstalled the two drivers.
Rebooted ... windows started trying to install the drivers and installed the Intel HD Graphics 4000 with an exclamation point.
not installed the High Definition Audio.
manually installed the audio with the link you sent me selecting the file IntcDAud in folder ibxHDMI and installed Audio Monitor Intel.
After that manually installed the drivers i told to you, by selecting the file igxp32 in the folder Graphics ... rebooted and ... all OK!!!
Thank you
sorry bad english.
I hope you solve too.
