妙事之一，是做一个稻草人

▍妙事之一

是做一个稻草人，

斜插在明亮的田野上，

帽子上

落满鸟的歌声，

有一颗金色稻杆的心；

有着农夫女儿一样狡黠的眼睛；

四顾无人时，便进行小小的巡游；

回来后，

作出一副若无其事的表情。

　　

妙事之一，

是做一个船首像，

以高贵的姿态

立于船首，

抵达世界的尽头；

伴随忧伤的风声，水声，

和一抹沉思的气息；

船舷划破

绿色的波浪，溅起飞沫。

　　

是做一个雪人，

整天茫然地思索，

顶着

满头雪花，

压根儿没有烦忧，

有一根古老的烟管和六颗纽扣，

身边偶尔围绕着打呢绒绑腿的孩子们；

但大多时候是孤独的，

一个单纯的人，压根儿没有烦忧。

A Fine Thing

To be a scarecrow

To lean all day in a bright field

With a hat full

Of bird's song

And a heart of gold straw;

With a sly wink for the farmer's daughter,

When no one sees, and small excursions;

Returning after

To a guiltless pose of indolence.

 

A fine thing

to be a figurehead

with a noble brow

On a ship's prow

And a look to the end of the world;

With the sad sounds of wind and water

And only a stir of air for thinking;

The timber cutting

The green waves, and the foam flashing.

 

To be a snowman

Lost all day in deep thought

With a head full

Of snowflakes

And no troubles at all,

With an old pipe and six buttons,

And sometimes children in woollen gaiters;

But mostly lonely,

A simple fellow, with no troubles at all.
