Sadhguru: But success essentially means that you want to be something more than what you are right now. You want to have a larger taste of life; you want to have a larger slice of life in your hands. That’s what success is. Somebody thinks they will have it with money, someone else things they’ll achieve it with knowledge, someone thinks it’ll happen through love. The source of your success is not in your desire to become successful; success comes only because you have the needed competence. It is not your desire; it is your competence and your ability. Who you are is all it is.

萨古鲁：本质上，成功的意思是指你想要超越现在的你。你想要更多地品尝生命的滋味，你想要手中握有生命更大的蛋糕。那就叫成功。有人认为他们可以通过金钱来得到它，另一些人认为他们可以通过知识来实现它，还有人认为要通过爱来实现它。成功不是来自于你对成功的渴望，成功到来是因为你拥有必要的能力。成功不是来自于渴望，而是来自于你的才干和能力。你是怎样一个人，那是最重要的。

If… Whatever work you wish to do in your life, if your work is important for you the most important thing that needs to be worked at is yourself. If your work is important first thing is you must work upon yourself. In the world whatever you wish to do, your ability to do that essentially happens to what extent you are capable of harnessing your own body, your own mind and after these two things are done harnessing the situation in which you exist, towards your goal. At this stage in your life you should look at what kind of success is sustainable for you and the coming generations.

如果……不管你希望在生命中做什么，如果你做的事情对你很重要，那么最需要下功夫的就是你自己。如果你做的事情很重要，那么你第一件需要做的事情就是在自己身上下功夫。在这个世界上，不论你希望做什么，你做那个事情的能力取决于在何种程度上你能够驾驭自己的身体和头脑，在完成了这两件事情之后，你就可以驾驭你所处的境遇奔向自己的目标。在你生命的这个阶段，你应该看一下什么样的成功对你和下一代而言是长久之计。

So our idea of success has to become more inclusive. All these gadgets - whether a computer or a Kindle or a cell phone or a spacecraft or a car or whatever else we have created, all those things that you cherish right now – all these gadgets were created by this gadget. This is the gadget, isn't it? The human mechanism is the fundamental gadget. This is not a simple gadget; this is a phenomenon because it creates itself. Such a phenomenal level of intelligence and competence is right here – it can make a piece of bread into a human being. But you are not aware of it, so it does not exist for you. If only you can conduct this consciously, if you could bring this level of intelligence and competence into your daily life you would live magically.
