in red和in the red大不同！说错了可会很尴尬

可别小看了定冠词the的作用，有它没它意思可能大不同。

1in red VS. in the red

☑The girl in red is my girlfriend.

那个身穿红衣服的姑娘是我的女朋友。

（in black-穿黑衣；in pink-穿粉衣）

☑The printing company was in the red.

这家印刷公司出现了赤字。

2by hand VS. by the hand

☑ People here still make clothes by hand.

这里的人们依然手工制衣。

☑ I took my sister by the hand. 

我拉着姐姐的手。

3by sea VS. by the sea

☑ Most exports went by sea.

大部分出口货物走海运。

☑ We bought a small cottage by the sea.

我们买了一栋靠海的小屋。

4in person VS. in the person

☑ 你必须亲自参加这个会议。

You must attend this meeting in person.

☑ 他替我哥哥来帮忙了，还带了啤酒和吃的。

The help arrived in the person of my brother, who brought beer and food. 

5in front of VS. in the front of

前者表示“在……外部的前面”，后者表示“在……内部的前面”

☑ There are many trees in front of the classroom. 

教室的前面有很多棵树。(树在教室外)

☑ There is a big desk in the front of the classroom. 

教室的前面有一张大课桌。(桌子在室内)

6in case of VS. in the case of

前者表示“万一……”，后者则表示“在……的情况下”

☑ In case of fire, please ring the bell. 

万一失火，请拉警铃。

☑ In the case of learning Chinese, many foreign students feel hard.
