送蔡山人

Seeing Off Cai, the Hermit

我本不弃世，

世人自弃我。

It’s not I that from the world flee;

It’s the world that does reject me.

一乘无倪舟，

八极纵远舵。

I am now in an aimless boat,

Unto Eight Bounds afloat, afloat.

燕客期跃马，

唐生安敢讥。

You jump on your horse, there astride:

Does Tang Ju still your state deride? 

采珠勿惊龙，

大道可暗归。

Don’t stir the blue when gathering pearls;

The Great Word on its own unfurls.

故山有松月，

迟尔玩清晖。

Atop the hills stand moonlit pines;

You can play there while the moon shines.
