This is an abdominal x-ray. And right away you can see that there're scattered air within the small bowel and colon. And you'll see in the mid abdomen crossing the spine there is extensive calcification. And if you just think of the anatomy in that location, you'll recognize that this is calcifications in the pancreas. So the most common thing that we see when we see calcifications in the pancreas, especially on a plain film, is chronic pancreatitis. So this is a patient with chronic pancreatitis. This is an example of extensive pancreatic calcifications.

腹部平片可见小肠和结肠内散在气体影。腹部中央可见广泛钙化影横跨脊柱。鉴于解剖可知此为胰腺钙化。这是一位慢性胰腺炎患者，即一例胰腺广泛钙化病例。

Notes:

1. bowel [ˈbaʊəl, baʊl] n.肠

  The intestine, especially of a human. Often used in the plural as bowels. A long tube in the body between the stomach and the anus . Food passes from the stomach to the small intestine and from there to the large intestine .

2. colon [ˈkoʊlən] n. 结肠

  The section of the large intestine extending from the cecum to the rectum.

3. pancreas [ˈpæŋkriəs, ˈpæn-] n. 胰，胰腺

  A long, irregularly shaped gland in vertebrates, lying behind the stomach, that secretes pancreatic juice into the duodenum and insulin, glucagon, and somatostatin into the bloodstream.

4. pancreatitis [ˌpænkrɪr'taɪtɪs] n. 胰腺炎

  Inflammation of the pancreas.
