1.住酒店（旅行时）

stay at a hotel 

live in a hotel × 
stay at a hotel √

“live”表示长期生活、定居，而我们出去旅行的时候，只是临时住一下酒店，你可以理解为“呆在酒店”，所以用stay。
（当然，你要是长期就住酒店的话，live也是可以的。）

I'm staying at a local hotel these days. 
我这几天住当地酒店。

2.我在中国生活

I live in China.

I'm living in China. ×
I live in China. √

"I'm living in China"表达“我暂时住在中国”，并非长期生活定居，给人的感觉好像你是来旅游的，过段时间就要走

3. 别管闲事

Stay out of it! 

Don't care about things ×
Stay out of it! √

"stay out of ..." 表示“置身于...之外”，所以在叫别人不要管闲事的时候，可以吼出来Stay out of it! (通常不礼貌)

It's none of your business, stay out of it!
这没你什么事，少管闲事。
