But now you can see high-rise blocks up all over the place, especially along the riverfront.不久前这块地都是被遗弃的，很多都是荒地，所以几乎没人住那。但现在就有很多高楼，尤其是河边地带。 2 open up restaurants and shops开餐厅和商店 e.g. Plenty of restaurants and shops have been opened up there, where people can enjoy a whole day. 很多的餐厅和商店都开在那里。人们可以在那里度过美好的一天。 3 up-and-coming city 很有前途的城市 (甚至可以修饰market，company，girl等) e.g. An increasing number of flats have been put up, so I do reckon that it's an up-and-coming city. 这个城市很有前途，毕竟越来越来的高楼拔地而起。 4 be hard-pressed to find any drawbacks 很难找到任何缺点 e.g. I'm quite hard-pressed to find any drawbacks, but I guess one thing that's not so great is the traffic congestion.
