A BOOK IN EVERY HOME ANAGRAM

Anagrams were originated by the Greek poet Lycaphron in the 4th century BC who used them to impress the aristocracy.   It has also been suggested that in the 6th century BC Pythagoras used anagrams to unveil deep philosophical meanings.  The Romans and early Christians used anagrams to invoke mysticism or prophecy.   In the 13th century Jewish Cabalists also used them for mystical and prophetic importance.  Anagrams were popular in Europe throughout the Middle Ages for the coding of religious texts.  Galileo and Hooke even used anagrams to help protect their discoveries.

Here is a computer-based anagram generator and solver that may come in handy. 

Bible Code scholars use a technique called ELS (Equidistant Letter Sequencing) to reveal biblical prophecy. Ed seems to have already utilized this method with the 16 letters on the book cover to the left.  If read from the first to letters on the bottom right and upwards it reads, EMERY OK.  I have joked with colleagues that this is Ed's prophetic validation of my work, but of course it's a mere coincidence because as you can see from the results of the anagram solver there are many possible word combinations that can be formed.  There are though many things that can be seen inside the image Ed is holding inside this image.  Click here to see a few of them including the square and compass!
