近年来影响因子上升速度飞快的Journal of Thoracic Oncology是IASLC的官方期刊，虽然收录部分胸部肿瘤相关外科治疗的文章，但总体还是以收录胸部肿瘤相关的研究为主，并非纯胸外科专业期刊。但今年该杂志的影响因子超越了JAMA Surgery。大外科类别专业期刊最高分依然是JAMA Surgery，紧随其后的是Annals of Surgery，接受各种各样外科专科相关的研究。内镜手术相关的Endoscopy杂志影响因子今年超越了10分。而Chest和Thorax两本杂志今年排序互换了位置，虽然会收录部分胸外科类文章但主要还是以内科为主 广大胸外科同道最推崇的“纯正”胸外科专刊仍然是那三大刊。排名第一的仍然是Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery。该杂志是AATS的官刊，2020年的影响因子是5.209。 
紧随其后的是Annals of Thoracic Surgery，为STS的官刊，其2020年的影响因子是4.33. 
排名第三的是European Journal of Cardio-thoracic Surgery，其影响因子是4.191。其姊妹刊Interactive Cardiovascular and thoracic Surgery的影响因子是1.905。这基本胸外科专刊杂志的影响因子都比2019年有了很大进步。 
中国区代表有AME杂志社的Translational Lung Cancer Research、Annals of Cardiothoracic Surgery和Journal of Thoracic Disease。在中国胸外科学界以及AME杂志社的努力之下，三本杂志的影响因子都有了飞跃。2020年的影响因子分别是6.498、4.101和2.895。可喜可贺！
