Now let’s learn some important pronunciation tips first. 好吧。现在让我们先学习一些重要的发音技巧。 1. 辅音+元音连读： 一句话中相邻的两个单词，前一个单词以辅音结尾，后一个单词以元音开始，拼读成“辅音+元音”。 文章中： Yes, Anthony, come on in. 是的，Anthony，进来。 练一练： Okay, just find something and get out of here. 好吧，快买一件，然后离开这里。 2. 弱读： 弱读是一种发音规律就是元音不饱满时，所有的元音都弱读成/ə/。 文章中: I don’t want to beat around the bush so I’m just gonna come out with it. 这里的gonna后面的a是元音但不饱满，弱读为/ə/，所以gonna 读作为[ˈɡənə]。 gonna=going to be going to 例句： I’m going to take a shower. = I’m gonna take a shower. 我要去洗个澡。 类似用法有： wanna=want to 例句： I want to go home. = I wanna go home. 我想回家。 (注意：wants to不等于wanna所以主语是he, she, it 等第三人称单数时只能用wants to) 那么注意这种gonna和wanna都是美语中非正式的用法，如果你要写论文，报纸新闻等较为正式的文章是不可以这样使用的，必须把所有单词写完整。 「核心单词掌握」 1. preoccupied [priˈɑːkjupaɪd] adj. 心事重重 It means thinking and/or worrying continuously about something so that you do not pay attention to other things. 它指的是不断地思考和/或担心某事，从而不去注意其他事情。 例句： It was evening. The street was packed with people, but they were so preocuupied as they went their way that none of them noticed what she had just done. 此时正值傍晚时分，街上到处都挤满了人，但街上的每个人都心事重重，以至于没有人注意到她刚刚做了什么。 2. direct impact 直接影响 direct [dəˈrekt] adj. 直接的 impact [ɪmˈpækt] n. 影响 In this dialogue, Isabel told Anthony that the company had made some decisions which would have a direct impact on his employment. 在这段对话中，伊莎贝尔告诉安东尼，公司已经做出了一些决定，这些决定将对他的就业产生直接影响。 It means these decisions will have a noticeable effect on Anthony’s career. 它指的是这些决定将对安东尼的职业生涯产生显著影响。 例句： The amount of water we use, a waste, in day to day life has a direct impact on the environment. 我们日常生活中的用水浪费对环境有着直接的影响。 3. resent [rɪˈzent] v. 怨恨；愤恨；愤愤不平 It means feeling bitter or angry about something, especially because you feel it is unfair. 对某事感到痛苦或愤怒，尤其是因为你觉得它不公平。 记忆技巧： re 相反；反对；不+sent 感觉→反感→不满 补充： sent = to feel, feeling 感觉 assent [əˈsent] n./ v. 赞成 （as 加强+sent 感觉→感觉一样→赞成） consent [kənˈsent] n./v. 同意，准许 dissent [dɪˈsent] n./v. 不同意，持异议的 例句： I deeply resented her criticism. 我对她的批评感到非常气愤。 「实用口语表达」 1. beat around the bush 绕圈子/旁敲侧击（去说明...） 该短语多用于疑问句或否定祈使句。 It is deliberately ambiguous or unclear in order to mislead or withhold information. 它是指故意含糊或不清楚，以误导或隐瞒信息。 This idiomatic phrase is to express that you’re kind of looking for the right or maybe more polite words to say something. 这是一个习语，用来表达你在寻找合适的或者更礼貌的词语来表达某事。 例句： Don't beat around the bush, come straight to the point! 别拐弯抹角，直截了当地说吧！ 2. come out with it 说出来 It is the opposite way to say beat around the bush. 它是绕圈子的反义表述方式。 例句： You have anything on your mind, I want you to come out with it. 如果你有任何想法，我希望你说出来。 3. let you go 让你走 When Isabel finally came out with it, she told Anthony that, “ we’re going to have to let you go”. 当伊莎贝尔最终说出这件事时，她告诉安东尼：“我们必须让你走”。 So, this is actually a nicer way of saying “you’re fired”.
