《乙瑛碑》书风颇严谨,富素朴之趣,是汉隶成熟时期的典型作品,也是后人学习隶书最佳范本之一。

《乙瑛碑》艺术特点:

《乙瑛碑》,全称《汉鲁相乙瑛请置孔庙百石卒史碑》,又名《孔庙置守庙百石孔龢碑》,东汉永兴元年(公元153年)刻,原石现存山东曲阜孔庙。与《礼器》、《史晨》并称'孔庙三碑',历为书家所重。

清杨守敬评:'是碑隶法实佳,翁覃溪(翁方纲)云:'骨肉匀适,情文流畅。'诚非溢美,但其波磔已开唐人庸俗一路。'这正讲出了该碑的微妙处。临写此碑要特别注意波画的'逆入平出',尤其是起笔处的逆势不能形迹外露。如'蚕头'的逆势形迹向上作侧锋外露,就流于了唐隶'蚕头'起笔侧露的庸俗风气。

《乙瑛碑》是汉隶中有数的逸品,字势开展,古朴浑厚,俯仰有致,向背分明。特别是后半段,采取笔杆倒向左侧的逆向行笔,使每一点画入木三分,扣的很紧,尤为高妙。《乙瑛碑》的结字看似规正,实则巧丽,字势向左右拓展。书风谨严素朴,为学汉隶的范本之一。----《古代碑帖鉴赏》费声骞

(一)字形扁阔左舒右展

隶书注重横向取势和绞转用笔,既雄阔严整,又舒展灵动。

(二)横平竖直笔画匀称

隶书注重横平竖直,笔画匀称。创作时要灵活处理正斜、粗细的变化。

(三)内紧外松自然茂密

隶书常常突出字中的主笔,甚至作些夸张性的变长

临写此碑要特别注意波画的'逆入平出',尤其是起笔处的逆势不能形迹外露。如'蚕头'的逆势形迹向上作侧锋外露,就流于了唐隶'蚕头'起笔侧露的庸俗风气。
