environment.SuchdamagemayincludedelaminationbetweenthedieandtheLEDlensplasticencapsulation

material,whichmayresultinopenconnectionsduetobrokenwirebonds.Moistureinthepackagehavingreacheda

criticallevelwillfracturethepackageinordertoescapewhenexposedtopeaktemperatureconditions,typicalin

solderingpractices.Therefore,thecontrolofmoisturelevelsintheLEDpackageiscriticaltoreducetheriskof

moisture-inducedfailures.PleasefollowJEDEC-STD-033Astandardsforhandlingmoisturesensitivedevices.

Uponreceipt,thebagsshouldbeinspectedfordamagetoensurethatthebag’sintegrityhasbeenmaintained.

Inspectionshouldverifythattherearenoholes,gouges,tears,orpuncturesofanykindthatmayexposethecontents

ofthebag.

Toopenthebag,simplycutacrossthetopofthebagasclosetotheoriginalsealaspossiblebeingcarefulnotto

damagethecontents.Onceopenthedesiredquantityofunitsshouldberemovedandthebagresealed.Ifthebagis

leftopenlongerthan2hours,thedesiccantpouchshouldbereplacedwithadrydesiccantandthebagshouldbe

sealedimmediatelytoavoidmoisturedamage.

Unityincludesadesiccantpouchineachbag.Testingconfirmsthatthedesiccantpouchgreatlyreducesthe

presenceofmoisturebymaintainingtheenvironmentinthebag,thusprotectingthedevicesduringshipmentand
