NuSkinscientistspresentedresearchfindingsonhowmentalandphysicalvitalityisimprovedthrough
nutritionalstrategiesthatinfluencemitochondrial-relatedgeneticexpression.Twopresentationswere
madeattheFirstWorldCongressonTargetingMitochondria:Strategies,InnovationandClinical
ApplicationsinBerlin.

multiplegeneticpathwaysthatplayaroleinthecomplexprocessofaging,”saidJoeChang,Ph.D.,Nu

researchfocusesonimprovingphysical,mental,andsexualhealththatdeclinesthroughthenormalaging
process.Unlikeotherswhoemploysinglegeneapproaches,withourresearchpartners,wehave
identifiedmultiplegenesthataffectmitochondrialfunctionandalsovalidatenaturalingredientsthat
positivelyaffecttheexpressionofthosegenes,therebyimpactingoverallenergyandvitality.Webelieve

approachtodevelopeffectiveanti-agingproducts.”
ImprovedMentalVitality
Atthecongress,NuSkinseniorscientistScottFergusonpresented“TargetingAge-RelatedGene
ExpressionImprovesMentalandPhysicalVitality”andhighlightedstudieswithapatent-pendingblendof
ingredientstoimprovephysical,mental,andsexualhealth.Thisblendwasshowntoresetmitochondrial-
relatedgeneexpressiontoamoreyouthfulstate.Inapilotstudyonmentalacuity,theblendsignificantly
improvedmultipleattributesofcognitivefunctioninmenandwomenaged28-50overthosetakinga
placebo.
ImprovedPhysicalVitality
Inasecondstudy,Fergusonpresentedevidencethatrevealedimprovedenergylevelsinmice
supplementedwiththesameproprietaryingredientblendasthementalacuitystudy.Aftersevenweeks,
physicalendurancewasimprovedinthesupplementedgroupascomparedtoaplacebogroup.
Furthermore,thescientistsreportedthat,relativetotheplacebogroup,thesupplementedgroupretained
moremuscleglycogenandhadreducedlacticacidbuildupduringexercise.
IdentifyingIngredientstoCombatAging

researchdescribedanalgorithmNuSkin’spartner,LifeGenTechnologies,usestoidentifygenetic
supermarkersofaging.Naturalingredientswerethenscreenedfortheirimpactonthegeneticexpression
ofthosesupermarkers.Thisstudyfurthersuggeststhattheagingprocessisinfluencedbytheexpression
ofseveralgenesandthatasinglegenechangecannotaccountfortheentirerangeofage-related
disorders.
