【语法】
一、本单元学习某个节日在某个月份的表达方法。在月份前面应用介词in来修饰。介词in一般放在年、月、季节等比较大的时间之前，表示泛指的上午、下午、晚上也用介词in。
而在具体到某一天时则要用介词on。
如：Children’sDayisinJune.儿童节在六月。
Inspring,itiswarm.在春天，天气很温暖。
China’sNationalDayisonthefirstofOctober.中国的国庆节在十月一日。
Mother’sDayisontheseconddayofMay.母亲节在五月的第二个星期天。
二、在这个单元中出现了很多节日名称，有的节日名称前用了定冠词the，有的节日名称前则没有the。
一般来说，在由festival构成的我国传统节日名称前用the，如the?SpringFestival(春节)，theLanternFestival(元宵节)，theDragonBoatFestival(端午节)，theMid-AutumnFestival(中秋节)，theDoubleNinthFestival(重阳节)，而在由day构成的节日名称前不用the，如MayDay(劳动节)，Children’sDay(儿童节)，Mother''sday(母亲节)，Father''sDay(父亲节)，Teachers’Day(教师节)，NewYear’sDay(元旦)等。
如：TheSpringFestivalisinJanuaryorFebruary.春节在一月或者二月。

<常用词组>celebrateafestival庆祝节日enjoyafestival欢庆节日
TheMid-AutumnFestivaliscoming.中秋节到了。

中国的元宵节是在第一个农历月的第十五天。
[拓展]festival的意思是“节曰”，多指民俗或宗教节曰，用作专有名词时，前面可加上the，如theSpringFestival,theDoubleNinthFestival，festival有时候还可以指音乐、戏剧、电影等汇演性的节日，如artfestival,dramafestival,filmfestival等。
[辨析]day，festival和holiday
（1）这三个单词都可以用来表达“节日”，但是它们在使用上却有很大的区别哦！一般来说，为特定人群设定的节日用Day，有着纪念的感情色彩，如：
Father’sDay父亲节 Mother’sDay母亲节 Children’sDay儿重节
Teachers’Day教师节 Women’sDay妇女节 Nurse’sDay护士节
不用上班(上学)的日子，我们要用holiday，如：
summerholiday暑假 winterholiday寒假NationalDayholiday国庆节假日
festival更强调具有传统意义的节日，在这些节日里，人们会举行庆祝活动，如：
theSpringFestival春节 theLanternFestival元宵节
theQingmingFestival清明节 theDragonBoatFestival端午节
theMid-AutumnFestival中秋节 theDoubleNinthFestival重阳节
（2）表示“在”某个节日，如果后面是festival，通常用at；如果后面是day，则用on。如：
Peopleeatricedumplingsatthisfestival.人们在这个节日吃粽子。
TheyclimbmountainsattheDoubleNinthFestival.他们在重阳节爬山。
WhatdopeopledoonMother’sDay?人们在母亲节做什么？
WehaveagoodtimeonChildren’sDay.我们在儿童节玩得很开心。

givesb.sth.意为“送某人某物”，等同于“givesth.tosb.”

Mother’sDay意为“母亲节”，此短语为名词所有格的用法，在表示“某人的。。。。。。”时，常在名词后加“’s”构成，若名词以s结尾的复数形式时，则在其后加“’”即“s”
如：ChildrenhavealotoffunonChildren’sDay.孩子们在儿童节晚的很开心。

在这个节日，人们和他们家人聚在一起。
（1）people这个单词看作是复数，意为“人们，人民”，但意为“民族”时，则是单数，apeople意为“一个民族”。
（2）family意为“家人”时，被看成是复数；意为“家庭”时，被看成是单数。如：
MyfamilyarewatchingTV.我的家人在看电视。
Myfamilyislarge.我的家庭是个大家庭。
【语音】
本单元学习的是字母组合th的发音。字母组合th在单词中一般发/θ/音。
发音方式：/θ/是清辅音，发音时把舌尖放在上下齿之间，舌尖轻触上齿，略略露出齿外，气流由舌尖泻出，声带不振动，摩擦形成/θ/音。
